With so many options, it’s easy to become confused when deciding how to establish your name on the web. Depending on your comfort level, experimentation would be one way to go. You can do this anonymously, using a name you won’t use later, so that you can experiment and test without having anyone say, ‘Oh, I saw your site the other day. It’s atrocious!’ (Of course, if they talk like that, they probably won’t remain friends for long!)
There are many free sites which will host yours for you. I recommend trying some of these out to see which one(s) you find easiest to use and understand. I’ll go in more detail on some of these in the next post. Until then, this is

As an author, your presence on the web can do wonders for keeping your name out there, giving your followers an anchor, and exposing your work to new readers, editors and agents. Do you find the process daunting? Maybe a little scary or beyond your talent? I’ll resist using the words ‘never fear’, and instead say, ‘Welcome! You have a friend in cyberland who can help you get established!’
The Writers Cyber Guy has worked in the computer industry for over 20 years in all facets: hardware, software, and networking. I’m comfortable around technology, and, being a writer also, know that I can speak in plain language to help you set up a website quickly and easily.
I’ll show you sample sites, and you can also visit your favorite author’s site to see how it’s structured. I will warn you. Some of them are good. Some of them are not. But you’ll get an idea of different styles, which might help you determine what style you want.
Until later, this is,
